Hello.
My name is Roanna.
Before I get into the heart of this NOTICE, here is what I am covering. This isn’t a personal essay. I’m simply expanding the means through which I reach out to clients (past/potential/present). Basically: I’m looking for work. Through this post, I hope to share the assignments I enjoy working on, based on my interest levels & skill-set. Should you (or anyone you know) be looking for something that matches my offerings, I would be keen to hear more.
I work on my own, and this means I juggle between a mix of admin/creative and personal tasks i.e., writing to clients, responding to and sending e-mails, working on assignments, promoting my work, building my portfolio etc. My request to you, should you choose to write to me, is to please state your intentions clearly (those you feel comfortable to divulge). What is the nature of said assignment? What are you looking for? What is your budget? What are the dates you have in mind? Knowing all or most of these details help me consider + understand if we’d be a good fit for each other at the time.
Should you like to get in touch, it would be greatly helpful if you broke down your e-mail/inquiry as so:
1. What you are looking for (Deliverables/References)
2. What this might cover (Nature & Topics)
3. What this might possibly entail (Details + Resources + Scope)
4. What rates* are being offered
*Should you not be offering compensation at this time, and yet decide to write to me… Your confidence is emboldening! Lightness aside, if you are yet a student and/or your business is young, I sympathise with your predicament. I get it. Respectfully, this stance, however, does not work for me. I consider the work I do as sacred, & I give it my 87% if not 100%. I like to be financially independent, and I no longer welcome requests that hint at working with me on a goodwill- or pro-bono-basis. Thanks for understanding!
5. Dates (The timeline you’re looking at)
Quickly interjecting here that I am grateful for & to the people who do reach out to me, and present themselves, respectfully and sincerely. I value Time (it is precious), and I honour those taking the time out of their schedule to write to me and put across their offers, queries and suggestions. Though my response rate varies (it depends on the week + what is going on at the time), I try my best to reply within a period of 3–5 days.
THE KIND OF DRAWING/ILLUSTRATING WORK THAT I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING TO DO:
1. Editorial illustrations (i.e., those supporting an article, blog post, personal essay, recipes etc.)
2. Cover Art: Books, Magazines, Singles (Music)
3. Customised art (E.g., A BIRTHDAY PORTRAIT FOR A FRIEND, BABY/WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENTS, MEMORIAL ART.)
4. Promotional material: Flyers, Labels, Menus, Stickers.

STYLE
I would like to believe my artistic style (and technique) is ever-evolving. !!!! What I can tell you is that I like working on pieces that are cute, detailed and pleasantly colourful. I enjoy working on outlines, and adding tiny decorative motifs as and where I see fit. There are examples here for you to check out since this aspect largely involves you, in terms of seeing whether my work is something that evokes an emotional response in you or not. I respect our varied palettes, takes and tastes, and would (try to) not take it personally if you are not a fan of what I do or how I do it.
PORTFOLIO & those whom I’ve worked with: I can e-mail you an intro + some screenshots of my past work. [My clients are a mix of 1–2 known companies and individuals, and mostly, small/self-made businesses (my faves!).]
